Alan Wake busts into box form on April 3 in North America

Remedy Entertainment and Nordic Games have snagged Legacy Interactive to distribute the boxed PC version of Alan Wake in North America and will begin shipping the title on April 3. This deal took some careful planning, it appears , as Remedy previously extended the Steam collector’s edition launch deal for an extra week while North American fans waited for a physical launch announcement. Similarly to the Steam version, the boxed PC edition of Alan Wake includes two DLC packs, The Writer and The Signal, and supports stereoscopic 3D and multiple screens.

Alan Wake PC recoups dev and marketing costs in 48 hours

Alan Wake for PC took the road less traveled to launch, but all those yellow bricks are made of gold from here on out. Developer Remedy, which was also the publisher of the PC version, revealed the game recouped its development and marketing expenses during “the first 48 hours” after launch on February 16.

Remedy Games is gearing up to launch Alan Wake on Steam this February with a hefty FAQ session on its forum. Steam’s Alan Wake will not be available on Mac, won’t use Games for Windows Live and won’t have a demo.

Rumor: Writer teases Dante’s Inferno sequel

Sharp-eyed rumor hunter @supererogatory brings word that we might not have seen the last of EA’s goofy Dante’s Inferno franchise, despite the lukewarm reception of the first game. The official bio page for writer Joshua Rubin , who worked on Assassin’s Creed 2 , says he was “the sole writer for a Major Unannounced Sequel from Visceral Studios at EA Games.” Visceral is, of course, the EA label behind the Dead Space series and the first Dante’s Inferno.
