Resident Evil: Revelations was announced to have a $50 price tag last year, mostly because of its 4GB cartridge, which is 2GB larger than most 3DS games’. After “weeks of effort,” Capcom has dropped that price to $40 — standard for the 3DS — without infringing on the cart size, Capcom’s Brett Elston announced.
Yoshinori Ono is the Grand Poobah of all things Street Fighter these days, and it would be hard to pinpoint a single person who currently has more of an impact on the direction of the fighting game genre than he does. That direction, it turns out, looks an awful lot like some of the changes implemented in Street Fighter X Tekken , namely the Gem system and everything it stands for.
The announce of Resident Evil 6 stole the spotlight yesterday afternoon during Capcom’s big 15th anniversary event in Japan, and the company delivered even more info on the game than the surprisingly lengthy trailer could offer. It turns out that Leon will be joined by a brand new, highly alliterative security worker named Helena Harper, while Chris Redfield’s partner remains unknown. In non-human characters, the snarling beast seen in the trailer repeatedly (and above) is named “Javo,” and is said to have an “even greater impact than the zombies.” He gives us a Nemesis vibe, which is to say, “He looks and sounds terrifying,” even though his name makes him sound like a barista.
Capcom released a new Street Fighter X Tekken trailer, showing new characters for the crossover fighter, including Balrog, Juri, Vega, Paul, Law, and Xiaoyu. But that’s not important right now. What is important is a tease for the Vita version at the end of the trailer, which shows silhouettes of what is clearly Pac-Man, and what appears to be some kind of Mega Man variant
We’ve known that Capcom’s Vancouver studio (formerly Blue Castle Games) was hard at work on two different projects and now, if a recent job listing is to be believed, it appears that at least one of them is a brand new IP. This listing asks for a design director on an “unannounced new IP,” specifically a third-person filled with both “action” and “adventure.” Such a project makes sense, given the studio’s experience with Dead Rising 2 . We’re just going to go out on a limb here and say the studio is pulling the Proto Man costume from Dead Rising 2: Off the Record in order to create a brand new franchise: Proto Man Legends .
